Christian Kane is inching closer and closer to his major label debut! The actor/singer-songwriter/bad ass Southern rock musician tweeted a link to the pre-order product page for his first solo EP last night.The self-titled 5-song collection features the Kane favorite (okay, maybe it's just my personal favorite) "The House Rules," which was released as a free download last January to celebrate the launch of his new website, and four other brand new songs. I say brand new because these songs have not previously been released on a Kane record, but there is a good chance he's been playing them live. Unfortunatley, I wouldn't have any idea since [sniff, sniff] he has yet to come to the Mid-Atlantic.
For those of you who have yet to experience the awesomeness that is Christian Kane the musician but are confused because you think you know who he is anyway, you may recognize him from his portrayal of Wolfram & Hart attorney Lindsay McDonald on the Joss Whedon series Angel or from his current role as enforcer Elliot Spencer on TNT's amazing action dramedy Leverage.
Christian has previously performed and recorded under the band name Kane, but the group recently switched to promote the band under Christian's more widely recognized full name. The band performs regularly in the Northwest whenever Christian is filming Leverage in Portland. Which is right now. Because they are currently working on the sure-to-be-amazing third season.
Christian expects to release his first major label album through EMI Nashville in the near future. Until then, we can enjoy this wonderful new EP that is scheduled to be released Tuesday March 9.
