Hole Releases New Single for Free

The Nobody's Daughter website boasts a refined Hole logo, a cracked glass slipper (keepin' it old school with the raggedy fairy princess motif, I see!), and a couple of tour dates. It's not much right now, but expect a ton more once the release date for the album gets closer.

That's right. I said release date. It looks like the April 27th date the record company mentioned last month is sticking. The banner at the top of the site says, "In stores April 26th and 27th worldwide." April 26th will be for Europe and Asia and April 27th for the States.

As I write this, I'm listening to "Skinny Little Bitch" for the third time. Obviously, it fucking rocks. It's Courtney Love! She may the media's biggest crazy, but she is a fucking rock star. And it really is Hole despite the disproportionate old members to new members ratio, hence my willingness to finally give up the sarcastic use of quotation marks when referring to the band and this album. I say it really is Hole because the song truly does have that Hole edge we've all been missing, especially when you compare it to Courtney's 2004 solo album America's Sweetheart (which, to be honest, I listened to a few times the week it came out and then quickly spiraled into a serious 90s grunge/alt rock/Bush phase).

I'm ready to forgive, but I'm not ready to forget...yet.

I just had a revelation whilst discussing "Skinny Little Bitch" with SWTS reader and friend, Rhiannon. I was saying how great the song is and how I just posted a link to it and all that, and then this: "It's weird. As angry and hurt as I am about everything that's happened, I can't be mad at the music." Deep thoughts from me in the early morning. First time for everything!
