Fox Plans Return for 'Lie to Me'

My prayers have finally been answered. Entertainment Weekly reports that Fox plans to resume airing new episodes of Lie to Me Monday June 7th at 8pm.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with this brilliant series, Lie to Me stars Tim Roth as psychologist Dr. Cal Lightman, an expert in body language and microexpressions. He heads a firm called The Lightman Group that deal with particularly difficult cases and serve as, well, human lie detectors. This is one of my favorite shows currently airing on television.

I have been pretty anxious over Fox's silence as far as the rest of season 2 has been concerned. The last episode aired on December 14th, and Fox has made no mention of ending the show's hiatus since then. I am relieved to finally have a date to circle on my calendar.

Ten episodes of the second season have aired so far. In November, Fox picked the show up for a full season order of 22 episodes. No word yet on whether or not they will produce and air 12 additional episodes, but I like what they're doing moving it to be a summer original. I like it a lot!

BONUS FUN FACTS:

When it returns in June, Lie to Me will be paired with a new series called The Good Guys. 'Guys,' which hails from Burn Notice creator Matt Nix (read: it will be FULL of awesome), will be previewed before American Idol on May 19th.

This is that sure-to-be-amazing action/comedy cop series that Colin Hanks and Bradley Whitford signed up for awhile back. It has gone by a few other titles including Code 58, The Five Eight, and Jack and Dan. The show follows the misadventures of a washed up Dallas detective paired with a young partner with an affinity for the rules.

I know there are plenty of other cop shows out there right now, but if Matt Nix is behind this I'm there. No questions asked.
