Jive Looking at a May Release for Another Britney Album

The UK's Digital Spy is reporting that Britney Spears' label, Jive Records, is aiming for a May 2010 release for the singer's seventh studio album. There are plans to enlist the help of longtime Britney collaborator Max Martin, who penned Spears' most recent hit "3," as well as Sean "Smash on the radio, bet I penned it!" Garrett who penned Britney Blackout favorite "Toy Soldier."

Garrett recently spoke with MTV News and confirmed he was hard at work on new material for the Queen of Pop, saying, "I have to take the same type of approach I take on the hit records I write: I can't rush it. I'm a fucking superstar artist/writer/producer, and I will give my fans what they want and what they're asking me to give them: a phenomenal album."

I am on the fence, let's say, about this news. As a human being (assuming this is for real news instead of just reporting rumors like they're facts to get pageviews), I want to scream, "SAY WHAT?! Girlfriend needs a break!" Considering her recent publicized past, the fact that she has a family and just toured around the world for the last eight months performing almost every night, I'd say Britney deserves a vacation. But as a diehard fan, the thought of only having to wait six or seven more months for new material brings tears of the purest joy to my eyes.

Only time will tell what 2010 has in store for Britney. But she should know her fans will wait until the moon has waterfalls and NBC stops canceling all of its shows for a new record.

PS—Please note that the above picture is real (from her official website). Yes, that fierce bitch performed with a fake mustache on. LOVE IT!
